Since no lens made is perfect, there are certain disadvantages to these lenses. They still don't get as dark in very hot weather. They are made of an organic activator, and heat diminishes their sensitivity to light. It does not bother me too much, but I do get complaints about this. The main complaint I get is they don't activate behind the windshield of a car. Since they are activated by the ultraviolet rays, cars since the eighties have UV protection in their windshields. And lastly they don't get rid of the reflective glare. This type of glare can be very debilitating. When sunlight bounces off an object it comes at you at lower angle. Only polarized lenses can correct this issue.
